A workshop for aspiring entrepreneurs—most of them displaced people from Ukraine—who are planning to start social businesses in the Netherlands. Despite the uncertainty around their legal status and the deep emotional pain caused by the ongoing war, their energy and determination were incredible. Participants shared their hopes, challenges, and bold ideas for businesses that aim to make a positive impact—on both their communities and Dutch society.
Ideas ranged from: – Authentic Ukrainian food ventures – Sustainable footwear made from sheep wool – Language courses and cultural bridging – Coaching and psychological counselling services We explored how digital storytellingcan help connect these meaningful initiatives with wider audiences, raise visibility, and foster community support.
These stories aren’t just about business. They’re about resilience, contribution, and rebuilding lives with purpose.
We’re proud to support this journey and look forward to seeing these ideas grow!
